Posted June 21, 2011 10:08:00 A body found floating in a lake north of Sydney this morning is believed to be that of a teenage girl who has been missing since a boat capsized 10 days ago.
Police say a local walker noticed the body in Lake Macquarie at Marks Point, south of Newcastle, about 7:00am (AEST).
Officers have now recovered the body, which is believed to be that of Courtney Simon.
The 14-year-old has been missing since a boat she was in capsized at nearby Green Point on June 11.
Police have notified the teenager's family and are preparing a report for the coroner.
An autopsy will be carried out on the body to confirm the identity and exact cause of death.
Two teenage boys survived the accident, with one swimming to shore while the other was rescued.
