The New South Wales Teachers' Federation says the State Government's decision to move Gosford Public School to the Henry Kendall high school site is impractical, and parents and teachers will fight the decision.

The Education Minister, Adrian Piccoli yesterday confirmed the school's re-location by 2014, despite widespread community opposition.

Parents and teachers have a range of concerns about the move, including the practicality of having young children and teenagers on the same school site.

It's still not known what will be built on the existing primary school site near the Gosford waterfront.

The Federation's Debbie Westacott says it is bad planning.

"If you are going to squash all of the education facilities for Gosford in this one particular patch between Gosford High School, Henry Kendall High School and have the public school on the same site. It doesn't leave any room for future growth," she said.
