The Central Coast Bears' Chief Executive acknowledges 2015 may be a more realistic timeframe for his club's entry into the NRL after talks with league boss, David Gallop today.

Over the weekend, Mr Gallop flagged the NRL's expansion may be pushed out from 2013 to 2015 to give existing clubs time to stabilise themselves under a new broadcast deal.

The Bears' CEO Greg Florimo says while the club is still aiming to be ready for 2013, he accepts 2015 would be more practical.

"We have generated a lot of interest and a lot of support up to this point and people are expecting 2013 to be the date but it would also give us the chance to recruit the very best players and make sure that we go into the competition with an outstanding team...So it would certainly give us some breathing space," he said.

A New South Wales Central Coast man has been arrested and charged with numerous offences after a cache of firearms was seized during a police raid on his property earlier today.

Firearms and Organised Crime Squad officers arrested the 29 year old after a raid on his Ourimbah property at around nine o'clock, which uncovered three unregistered rifles, a prohibited pump action shot-gun, an antique pistol, three revolvers and two cannibis plants.

Divers are now searching a weir near the property at Palmdale in relation to other possible weapons.

The man has been charged with a range of offences including four counts of possessing unregistered firearms and will face Gosford Local Court tomorrow.

The State Emergency Service says water levels around Tuggerah Lakes on the New South Wales Central Coast are holding steady at the moment but it remains on standby for possible flooding this afternoon.

The Wyong SES has has received more than 200 calls for help so far during this week's wild weather, and extra crews from Sydney have been called in to help with the backlog.

The only road closure is part of Yarramalong Road.

SES Controller Gary Whittaker says the situation is being closely monitored, with heavy rain predicted this afternoon.

"The areas that we are concerned about are those around the Tuggerah Lakes, Chittaway Point, Buff Point. Some of those properties already have water across the roads and into front yards of properties so we still need a fair bit of water to raise that level but we need to be ready in case that's what's coming this afternoon," he said.

Meanwhile, Newcastle University's Ourimbah campus is closed today due to localised weekend flooding, and predictions of more severe weather over the next 12 hours.

University exams scheduled for today and tomorrow have been posponed until next month.

A decision about whether the campus will re-open tomorrow will be made later today.

Water levels around the Wyong Shire aren't expected to subside significantly until around Sunday, with high tides due over the next few days.

The Bunning Creek Bridge at Yarramalong has been water damaged after being inundated yesterday.

The water level has since subsided, and drivers are being warned to be careful when crossing the structure.

It'll be repaired over the weekend.

Several roads at Killarney Vale and Chittaway still remain closed to all but residential traffic.

The water levels in the lakes are around 70 centimetres above normal.

A flood warning is current for Tuggerah Lakes as a precautionary measure.

A New South Wales Central Coast grandmother, who says she's been terrorised by teenagers in her own home for the past five months, has criticised local police for ignoring her pleas for help.

Susan Williams from Budgewoi says she's been verbally abused by the group, and her home regularly pelted with rocks and eggs since February.

Ms Williams says she has called the police on countless occasions but they refuse to do anything about it.

"They shouldn't be able to pick and choose who they do things for. The laws have been broken, my house has been vandalised and that is it, that is it and it is wrong," she said.

The ABC has contacted Tuggerah Lakes Police but they are yet to comment on the matter.

The Central Coast Bears' Chief Executive says he remains focussed on entry to the NRL in 2013, despite league boss David Gallop flagging the expansion may not happen until 2015.

Over the weekend, Mr Gallop suggested a delay in the NRL expansion to give existing clubs time to stabilise themselves under a new broadcast deal due to be in place by 2013.

But Bears' CEO Greg Florimo says while he wants Mr Gallop to clarify his comments when they meet later this week, it is business as usual for the club.

"Obviously David's comments are just that, comments. There is no real strategic decision based around them. The Independent Commission will be the ones to make that decision so until that group is formed, it is all just speculation at this point," he said.

Wyong Council will continue investigating plans to develop a multi-million dollar eco-tourism resort at Lakes Beach on the New South Wales Central Coast, despite opposition from local environmental groups.

The proposed concept includes 50 cabins or tents, a boardwalk and interpretive centre, to be fully sustainable and transportable on a two to three-hectare parcel of land near the local surf club.

The plan has been prompted by the Council's failed bid to host the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships in 2010-2012 because of a lack of local accommodation.

Wyong Mayor, Doug Eaton says Council wants to see more details before a final decision is made.

"A view by some of the local environmentalists that we shouldn't do the studies, we should say nup, it's not a goer lets pull the pin now. But council decided that it would continue the studies so in the fullness of time, it can make an informed decision," he said.
